NCBJ records highest weekly volume

National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCBJ) led market activity with a volume of 344,958 shares and a value of $327,710.10. Guardian Holdings Limited (GHL) recorded a volume of 51,104 shares valued at $728,232.00, to record the highest traded value of the day.

National Enterprises Limited (NEL), Jamaica Money Market Brokers Limited (JMMB) and Trinidad Cement Limited (TCL) contributed 16,673 shares, 14,099 shares and 12,602 shares with respective market values of $103,899.71, $4,229.70 and $52,675.34. In total 463,984 shares changed hands valued at $1.73 million. NCBJ also posted the largest volume of the week as 469,115 shares crossed the floor at a value of $451,396.21. Weekly volume stood at 1.36 million shares with a value of $17.91 million.

Advances outnumbered declines at a ratio of 3:2. Scotiabank Trinidad & Tobago Limited (SBTT) recorded the largest increase, moving up $0.04 to $29.55. West Indian Tobacco Company Limited (WCO) climbed $0.02 to $26.42, while TCL rose by $0.01 to $4.18. Volume leader, NCBJ, fell $0.03 to $0.95, as NEL slipped $0.02 to $6.23. WCO enjoyed the largest gain of the week of $0.39.Conversely, GraceKennedy Limited (GKC) suffered the biggest loss of $0.15 as it closed on $3.00.

There was no activity on the Mutual Fund Market. Prices remained unchanged at $5.11 for Caribbean Property Fund (CPF), $3.46 for Praetorian Property Mutual Fund (PPMF) and $70.00 for Savinvest India Asia Fund (SIAF). The Second Tier Market remained inactive with FNCU-Venture Capital Company Limited (FNCU) and Mora Ven Holdings Limited (MOV) standing firm at $1.00 and $13.50 respectively. The Bond Market registered a volume traded of 13,357 and a value of $15.26 million. Weekly volume on the Bond Market was 28,857 with a value of $32.67 million. The Composite Index shed 0.83 points to close on 785.61, down 0.32 points for the week. The All T&T Index slipped 0.01 points to 1,099.10, having climbed 1.34 points over the past week. The Cross Listed Index declined by 0.19 points to 58.62, totalling a weekly loss of 0.23 points.
