NCBJ ends week in lead

Friday’s trade session witnessed activity in 10 securities with a total volume of 596,626 shares valued at $5.64 million. National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCBJ) posted the largest volume of 379,017 shares for a value of $345,066.15. Ansa McAl Limited (AMCL) was also a significant contributor to the day’s totals as 125,000 shares crossed the floor at the day’s greatest value of $4.75 million. Other noteworthy issues included GraceKennedy Limited (GKC), National Enterprises Limited (NEL) and Guardian Holdings Limited (GHL) which added 50,200 shares, 18,809 shares and 13,485 shares in that order, with respective values of $175,700.00, $114,546.81 and $192,905.80.

The weekly volume stood at 1.98 million shares with a value of $48.68 million. Neal & Massy Holdings Limited (NML) was the volume leader of the week with a total volume of 827,666 shares valued at $40.80 million. Advances equalled declines as NCBJ gained $0.07 to close at $0.95. GHL climbed $0.05 to settle at $14.31 while on the contrary, AMCL plummeted $2.00 to end at $38.00 and NEL slumped $0.67 to $6.09. The week’s greatest upward price movement was NML which closed at $49.50, a change of $0.50. Conversely, the greatest loss of the week was AMCL’s loss of $2.00 to end at $38.

There was no trading on the Mutual Fund Market or the Second Tier Market. Friday’s volume on the Bond Market registered at 42,320 with a value of $43.45 million. Weekly Bond Market volume was 98,320 valued at $101.46 million. The Composite Index experienced a decline of 6.29 points to end at 781.04, which was a weekly loss of 3.53 points. The All T&T Index slipped 16.82 points to settle at 1,085.08, with a weekly decline of 14.11 points. However, the Cross Listed Index enjoyed a gain of 0.44 points.
