GHL continues to lead

Guardian Holdings Ltd (GHL) maintained its lead position from Thursday, as 123,238 shares changed hands valued at $1.78 million. National Enterprises Ltd (NEL) followed with a volume of 113,500 shares and value of $675,325.00. Ansa McAL Ltd (AMCL), Ansa Merchant Bank Ltd (AMBL) and Jamaica Money Market Brokers Ltd (JMMB) contributed 66,426 shares, 45,000 shares and 42,944 shares with respective trade values of $2.65 million, $1.26 million and $17,177.60. In total, 428,667 shares crossed the floor for a value of $6.75 million.

Advances surpassed declines at a ratio of 5:4. Scotiabank Trinidad & Tobago Ltd (SBTT) enjoyed the largest gain of $0.68 as it closed on $30.00. NEL climbed $0.54 to $5.95, while West Indian Tobacco Company Ltd (WCO) rose by $0.22 to $24.00. JMMB increased by $0.03 to $0.40 and AMCL to climbed $0.01 to $40.00 in that order. Declines were led by AMBL which fell $0.07 to $27.93. GraceKennedy Ltd (GKC) shed $0.06 to end at $3.44 as Sagicor Financial Corporation (SFC) traded down $0.05 to settle at $10.50. GHL slipped $0.01, ending the week at $14.48.

Trinidad Cement Ltd (TCL) recorded the week’s highest volume of 399,662 shares valued at $1.65 million. The week’s trading activity registered a total volume of 1.18 million shares and value of $13.46 million. The gains witnessed by SBTT, NEL and WCO during Friday’s session were the largest for the week. Conversely, Republic Bank Ltd (RBL) suffered the week’s greatest loss of $0.49, closing on $85.50. GKC and NML shed $0.26 and $0.24 to end at $3.44 and $49.00
The Mutual Fund Market and the Second Tier Market were inactive.
The Bond Market recorded a volume of 786 and value of $839,526.60.

The Composite Index rose by 5.14 points to 781.19, with a weekly increase of 4.41 points. The All T&T Index jumped 10.32 points to 1,089.77, having gained 8.35 points over the past week. The Cross Listed Index increased by 0.02 points to 58.65, totalling a gain of 0.08 points for the week.
