NEL leads in volume and value

Trading in eight securities produced a total volume of 199,389 shares and market value of $1.47 million. The most significant contributor was National Enterprises Ltd (NEL), which posted a volume of 87,613 shares for a value of $473,110.20. Grace Kennedy Ltd (GKC) yielded a volume of 44,685 shares valued at $158,631.75 while Guardian Holdings Ltd (GHL) added 30,612 shares with a value of $451,354.76.

The weekly volume of shares traded was 936,986 while the weekly value was $13.23 million. GHL was the week’s most actively traded security with 215,827 shares crossing the floor for a value of $3.18 million.

Advances equalled declines during Friday’s session. GHL gained $0.01 to close at $14.75 while Jamaica Money Market Brokers Ltd (JMMB) slipped $0.04 to $0.42. ANSA McAL Ltd (AMCL) recorded the greatest positive weekly change as it gained $2.00 to close at $40.00. Conversely, GHL witnessed the largest decline for the week after it fell $0.10 to end at $14.75. The Mutual Fund Market and the Second Tier Market were inactive.

The Bond Market was active on Friday with a total volume of 20,302 and corresponding value of $22.73 million. These figures brought the weekly volume to 47,302 and value to $53.02 million. The Composite Index lost 0.62 points on its way to 779.68, up 2.76 points from last week. The All T&T Index gained 0.05 points to close at 1,079.66, an increase of 7.91 points from the previous week. However, the Cross Listed Index fell 0.15 points to 59.46, totalling a weekly loss of 0.26 points.
