Grace Kennedy maintains lead

Grace Kennedy Limited maintained its lead position as 250,438 shares crossed the floor of the exchange for a value of $776,371.80. Trinidad Cement Limited, Sagicor Financial Corporation and Prestige Holdings Limited contributed 33,479 shares, 27,411 shares and 25,000 shares with respective values of $134,841.20, $274,867.17 and $78,763.83 to the day’s totals. Overall 352,166 shares changed hands for a value of $1.44 million. In aggregate, a total of 2.81 million shares traded during the month of April for a cumulative market value of $98.52 million.

Neal & Massy Holdings Limited posted the largest trade volume for the month of 1.16 million shares with a trade value of $57.29 million. Declines outnumbered advances at a ratio of 3:2 during Thursday’s trading session. Prestige gained $0.04 to close at $3.10, while National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited climbed $0.02 to $0.87. Sagicor Financial Corporation declined by $0.13 to $10.02, as Grace Kennedy Limited and Trinidad Cement Limited shed $0.05 each to end at $3.10 and $4.00 in that order.

There was no activity on the Mutual Fund or Second Tier markets. The Composite Index fell 0.15 points to 805.62. The All T&T Index traded down 0.23 points, ending the day at 1,101.95. The Cross Listed Index slipped 0.01 to 63.00. For the month of April, the Composite, All T&T and Cross Listed indices recorded losses of 16.2 points, 19.91 points and 1.52 points respectively.
